How we rate Casino Mate
This site covers one casino. That makes the scoring simpler to explain and harder to hide behind: there is no ranking to shuffle, only a score you can check line by line. Here is the protocol, the four criteria and the scale.
The reading protocol
- Open the licensed address and follow the footer seal to the regulator's certificate. Record operator, company number, licence number, grant date and status, with the date read.
- Read the terms and promotional terms in full and quote each figure with its section number: minimum deposit, wagering, maximum bet, pending period, caps, document list.
- Read the public pages for support channels, mobile play, providers and safer-gambling tools.
- Look at the lobby and name titles from the covers; do not quote catalogue totals we did not count.
- Say what has not been done. Every page carries a line on what the author did and what has not been done yet: a timed deposit and withdrawal, support response times, RTP from the game panels.
The four criteria
| Licence and operator transparency | 10 / 10 — Certificate at cert.cga.cw names the company, licence number and status |
|---|---|
| Cashier terms | 8 / 10 — 50× wagering, $7.50 max bet while wagering, $5,000 cap on welcome-offer withdrawals |
| Games and providers | 9 / 10 — Pragmatic Play, Spribe, Playson, 3 Oaks, Quickspin, Betsoft in the lobby |
| Support and safer-gambling tools | 9 / 10 — 24/7 chat, email and phone; deposit limits and cool-off periods on request |
| Overall | 9.0 / 10, an unweighted average |
Licence and operator transparency asks whether the licence can be verified at the regulator in one click and whether it names a company and number. Cashier terms weighs minimum deposit, wagering multiple, bet cap while wagering, pending period and withdrawal ceilings against the best terms we have seen offered to Australian readers. Games and providers looks at who supplies the lobby and how it is organised. Support and safer-gambling tools counts channels, stated hours, deposit limits, cool-off and self-exclusion.
The scale
The scale is relative: in each criterion the best we have seen offered to Australian readers sets 10, and everything else is marked against it. A verifiable regulator certificate is a 10 on transparency because nothing beats it. Cashier terms with 50× wagering, a $7.50 bet cap and a $5,000 ceiling on welcome-offer withdrawals are an 8: ordinary for the market, not generous. We publish one editorial score; we do not collect user ratings and we do not mark up an aggregate rating, because there is none.
What changes the score, and what does not
The score moves when the operator's terms move, when one of our own tests produces a result, or when the complaint record changes. It does not move with commission. We may earn a fixed commission when you open Casino Mate through this site; the affiliate disclosure explains it. A commission does not change our rating or the order of anything on this site, and the operator does not see pages before they are published.
Dates and corrections
Every page shows the date it was published and the date its figures were last checked, and every figure links to the page it was read from. If you find a figure that no longer matches the operator's page, write to contact with the section number and we will re-read it. Terms change; the operator's page is the one that applies.
